Flat Part 3

View from my window at night. Not bad really. During the day the buildings, from the outside, remind me a lot of the projects in New York.

The inside of the building we're in now, while not fantastic, is still much better than those in a lot of the buildings in Harlem and the Bronx. Plus, bonus, they're not falling apart, I don't have to jump over rotting or missing steps, the elevators work and the building doesn't smell like urine! Yes! Love it!

Now, I can only speak for the repair of the building I'm in, but so far so good. At night I think the buildings look actually quite nice. Especially when the moons out.

Flat Part 2

Flat hallway.

My bedroom. It's the size of a walk in closet, but I'm not complaining, even though my window doesn't open, because I'm the only one who got their own room.

My bathroom that I share with Brook and Maddie. It's actually pretty nice.

This is our bathroom shower... Ahem.

Hence—the shower I actually use... in David and Kyle's bathroom.

The Kitchen/Laundry Room. We don't have a dishwasher, so I suggested that we put our dishes in the washer. On gentle of course. No one thought that was a very good idea... or very funny. Except me. Cuz it is...

The living room. The other side of the room looks just like this pretty much. Only with a dining table. Didn't think it was worth putting two pictures of the room on the blog. It's just not that attractive of a room. Still, we all spend a lot of time in here when we're home. Watching T.V., playing cards, eating, etc. It's nice to have a place that's communal.

Flat Part 1

Welcome home! This is the outside of my apartment building or my flat as they’re called here: The Landward Apartments. You read that right—Landward APARTMENTS. To be honest I was a little confused myself, because they do in fact call apartments Flats here. Still, I would imagine that they probably wouldn’t say Flat Buildings instead of Apartment Buildings… I’m just not sure.

Anyway, this is the building I'll call home for the next couple of months. I have a fancy key to buzz myself into the building and even though there are elevators I usually take the stairs up to the fourth floor. (I’m trying to be healthy—plus the elevators take for bloody ever!)

I’m going to claim five flights because for some reason you have to go up 1.5 flights of stairs before you reach the first floor. So basically, I pretty much rock. Who needs a stair master when you have slow elevators?
