Vienna, Austria - Pt.1

The Carlton Opera Hotel.

This was my room. I wasn't totally comfortable with it. It was okay, but of everywhere I stayed it was the least comfortable.

Market close to my hotel.

It was awesome. I wish I'd had more time to spend there.

Tea for one sets. I almost bought one, but decided against it because I didn't know how I'd get it home.

The Museum Quarter.

The Natural History Museum. I would've liked to go here, but it was so big, and I had so little time that I didn't think it'd be worth it for what I'd have time to see.

The National Library. I wanted to see this, but it was closed for the day. Lame!

Does it make me a nerd that I a: really wanted to see a library, and b: was really disappointed when they said it was closed to tourists...?

The Mozart Monument.

A man opening the mouth of a lion who is spitting out water... why?

The Butterfly Museum.

It was a bit humid in there, as you can see by my hair.

Hallstatt Salt Mines

Sadly, I didn't make up to the mines, but I hear that they are definitely worth it.

It's only about a ten--fifteen minute walk from the hotel I was staying in. If you're taking your time...

You ride the tram up, and at the end you get to use the slides that the miners used. Sounds fun.

Traffic Sign for Eric and Nate

The motorcyclist has a ponytail! Man our signs are so boring.

Hallstatt Swans

The Ugly Duckling... Ah.

I counted 11 of them. There's probably more though.

I won't say that I stalked the swans until one of them did this... Let's just say I kept an eye out.

I love swans!  I want one.

The Band Outside My Hotel

I'm leaving dinner and heading up to my room when I hear this. So cool.

The guy with the boot of beer gave it to the conductor when they were done. The conductor is taking a sip. It was actually kind of funny to see this guy walk up and hand it to him. The conductor's face was priceless. I would've had it on video if my camera hadn't decided to die right then. But I'm not bitter.

Hallstatt at Night

The Catholic Church.

Easily the most photographed angle of Hallstatt and for good reason.

Cemetery at night.

Lit lanterns on the graves.

I thought it was the moon at first. It's not, just some light on the mountain top.

From my porch.
